This week our new What's On programmes arrived! Look out for that bright red cover at Reception and around town - we've displayed our ten year anniversary logo loud and proud on the front of this one. Inside you'll find it's jam-packed with exciting new events and projects taking place between April and September this year, as well as some brilliant new exhibitions, and a bigger workshop offering than ever. Here's a few of our highlights to whet your appetite...

In their own words: Artists' Voices from The Ingram Collection
20 May - 30 July 2017

We've partnered with the British Library's Artists' Lives oral history collection to bring you this exciting new multi-sensory exhibition. Key works by prominent Modern British Artists will be drawn from The Ingram Collection, displayed with audio recordings from the artists themselves, shedding new light on their personal experiences, lives, relationships and art. Artists will include Eduaro Paolozzi, Kenneth Armitage, Carel Weight, Elisabeth Frink, and Lynn Chadwick.

History of Art Talks
April - May 2017

Do you know your Cubism from your Vorticism? Your Constable from your Courbet? This new series of talks is for anyone who wants to brush up on a bit of art history, whether you're a student or just an enthusiast! Speakers are artist Melanie Paice, and Peter Scott, lecturer at Tate and Dulwich Picture Gallery among others.

Lightbox Lates
Every Thursday from 6 April 2017

Starting from April 6, we will now be open late till 9.30pm every Thursday evening. Enjoy some art in our exhibitions after work, and treat yourself to some tapas at Seasons Café special Thursday night menu. And there'll be lots to keep you entertained, with Film Nights every 2nd Thursday, and Joke in the Box comedy nights every last Thursday of the month.

The Lightbox Anniversary Lecture

Ten years to the day that The Lightbox first opened its doors, our Director Marilyn Scott will be reflecting back on the successes of a very busy decade! We invite everyone who has visited us and helped shape The Lightbox community to join us for some reminiscing and looking forward to what the next ten years hold!

Lightbox Literary Festival
20 - 23 April 2017

Book lovers rejoice, because we've got a long weekend packed with workshops, talks, book launches, pop-ups and lots of visiting authors. And you don't want to miss the special Jane Austen evening, with a Regency themed banquet laid on by Seasons followed by a screening of the ever-brilliant Pride & Prejudice.

Summer Family Fun Festival
Tues 25 - Fri 28 July 2017

After having such a great time at the first festival last year, we had to bring the Summer Family Fun back! This year we'll have drop in family workshops making pirate hats, balloon modelling and mermaids, as well as giant garden games, bubble fun and face painting. And most excitingly, a pop-up petting zoo will be set up in the courtyard as two adorable miniature Shetland ponies come to visit!
