Brancusi: The Essence of Things

Melanie is and artist, art tutor and Lecturer. Peter Scott has been a guide and lecturer at Tate Britain and Tate Modern for 15 years.

The Romanian-born sculptor, Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957), is widely acknowledged as an outstanding early 20th century sculptor and one of the most original artists working in Paris at a time of remarkable creativity. Brancusi was a master of many materials and used his skill to produce elegant and sophisticated works of great beauty in metal, stone and wood, often referencing his Romanian heritage.
