Following the daytime independent comics market ‘Comiket’, celebrate the visionary genius of Frank Hampson, creator of Eagle’s ‘Pilot of the Future’ Dan Dare, with his son Peter Hampson, the inspiration for the character Flamer Spry. Secrets of Frank Hampson’s life and work will be revealed, from his intensive studio process using costumes and props to his later struggles and international acclaim. Hosted by co-curator Paul Gravett. In association with Comica.London. Advance booking required. 

Saturday 8 October 2016, 6.00pm - 7.00pm

£12 (incl. one free glass of wine or juice)

The associated exhibition ‘The Story of British Comics So Far’ will be open from 5.00pm – 6.00pm after the ‘Comica Comiket: Independent Comics Market’ finishes at 5.00pm. The talk will run from 6.00pm – approximately 7.00pm.

Proceeds from this talk will go to The Lightbox which is a registered charity (no. 1073543). As a charity we rely on fundraising and donations to help support us so that we can continue to provide our extensive exhibitions, workshops, talks and events programme and run free community projects with local groups who would not usually have access to arts services.
