The inaugural Lightbox Literary Festival 2017 runs from Thurs 20 April - Sun 23 April and it promises history, poetry, Austen, Shakespeare and much more all packed into one event.
2017 marks not only the 10th anniversary of The Lightbox, but also the 200th anniversary of one of Britain’s greatest literary minds, Jane Austen. To commemorate this bicentenary, our resident chef will create a Regency inspired menu for this very special evening. Three indulgent courses will include Georgian-age gems like Black Butter, Mrs Martin’s mashed turnips and Regency roasted pork & apples. Guests will be invited to sample several dishes from the banquet table.
After dinner, guests will round of the themed evening with a screening of the 2005 film version of Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightly as the popular heroine, Elizabeth Bennet.
Every guest will leave with a Regency-inspired goody bag filled with a Jane Austen novel, Regency recipes and other literary goodies.
