Join us for an exclusive late night viewing of the ‘Damien Hirst: New Religion’ exhibition while enjoying a live band playing classic Britpop hits such as ‘Parklife’ and ‘Wonderwall’ in our Café Bar.
Damien Hirst first came to prominence as a leading member of the notorious Young British Artist or ‘YBA’ movement in the 1990s. This group, which included Tracy Emin, Sarah Lucas and The Chapman Brothers, were known for their openness to materials and processes, entrepreneurial attitude and shock tactics which they used to create a buzz around their exhibitions. These artists embodied the ‘Cool Britannia’ era of the 1990s, alongside indie music acts like Blur and Oasis who led the way in creating the lively and successful ‘Britpop’ scene.
The live music band will be on from approximately 7.45pm - 8.15pm.
Included in the price of £8 will be a free Britannia inspired cocktail and entry to the exhibition.
Thursday 2 July, 7.00pm - 9.00pm
Tickets: £8 (includes cocktail and entry to the Damien Hirst exhibition)
