Storytelling: 'Herbie's Big Adventure'

For the first two weeks of the summer holidays we will be holding a Summer Family Fun Festival which will include our usual family drop-in and bookable workshops along with some special added extras to help keep young creative minds active over the summer holidays!

Ahead of the release of her debut picture book, 'Herbie's Big Adventure', local author and rising-star illustrator Jennie Poh will give an exclusive reading at two storytelling sessions. The book explores childhood themes that will resonate with readers of all ages - such as children taking their first steps towards independence, accepting responsibilty for your own actions and being brave. Conservation is a key theme of the story: "The countryside, and its animals in particular, influence and inspire my work heavily, and as our lovely little hedgehogs are seriously endangered in the UK I thought it would be a good idea to write about one"

Storytelling with take place in the marquee in the courtyard and each session with run for 45 minutes. Spaces are limited to a maximum capacity of 30 children. Places will be allocated half an hour before each session starts and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
