Photographers of all ages and abilities are invited to submit their work to The Lightbox Photographic Open Competition!

In keeping with our 10 year anniversary in 2017, this year we are inviting entries in the theme of 'Celebration and Anniversary'. Successful entries will be displayed at The Lightbox from 14 October 2017 - 7 January 2018.

The exhibition aims to show the diverse range of photographic artwork that is being produced in the United Kingdom. Artists are encouraged to submit work that reflects their current practice. The selection panel will be particularly looking for works that have a contemporary feel, which reflect the theme of celebration and anniversary, but this does not exclude works that are produced using traditional themes and methods.

Prizes will be awarded for:

Best in Show: £500
Young Photographer's Prize (13-17 years): £100
The People's Prize: £250

The winners will be announced at the Private View and on the website.

During the exhibition, visitors will be given the opportunity to vote for their favourite exhibit, and the winning artist will be awarded The People’s Prize. The winner will be contacted at the end of the exhibition and their name announced on our website.
