Our society is lightyears from the ‘Make do and mend’ generation of the post war. Nowadays we’re encouraged to replace, not mend, but this is not so good for our environment. To coincide with our anti-upgrading exhibition ‘Waste Not…’ we will be holding a drop-in workshop for visitors to learn how to repair their devices rather than upgrading.
We have invited RESTART www.therestartproject.org
to come and lead repair workshops on electronic equipment. Bring along whatever you need fixing – your old phone, radio, charger, blender, whatever – and the fixers will fix, while at the same time showing you how to do it.
We’re also asking the creative wizzkids MAKERSPACE www.southlondonmakerspace.org
to come along – they can even use their 3-d printer to make replacement components!
David Reeves will also be joining us from the U3A to give soft furnishings and upholstery repair demonstrations throughout the afternoon.
Saturday 28 March 2015. Drop in anytime from 1.00pm – 4.00pmFree Entry | Suggested Donation £2Image credit: Restart party (c) Restart
