The British Council Collection, designed to support and promote the work of British artists in an international context, has a particularly strong collection of work by Young British Artists (YBA), purchased throughout the 1990s when the YBA movement was considered one of most important in terms of international contemporary art. At this informal talk, curator Linsey Young will discuss the exhibition ‘Damien Hirst: New Religion’ in the context of the history of the YBAs and the wider British Council Collection.
