The Young Curators project is for 13-19 year olds who are interested in learning more about art and how galleries and museums work. The projects have been run by The Lightbox since 2006 and provide a unique opportunity to discover the work that is involved in curating exhibitions as well as hands-on workshop sessions.
For the next project, the Young Curators will be working with artist Nicole Line and will produce their own work to be shown alongside the ‘Quentin Blake: Inside Stories’ exhibition. Taking inspiration from Quentin Blake’s wonderful illustrations, the Young Curators will create their own illustrated stories, produce a hand bound book and screen print their own postcard and poster size prints.
This is a great opportunity to work with a professional artist and learn some new skills, and to have your work on display at The Lightbox. It’s also a lot of fun!
Dates: Thursdays 17, 24 September, 1, 8 October, 4.30pm – 6.30pm
Cost: £18 for 4 sessions
