The Young Curators Project is for 13 to 19 year olds who are interested in learning more about art and how galleries and museums work. In these sessions participants will work with animators and artists, Veselina Dashinova and Nick McArthur, to create an animated artwork, inspired by ‘The Horse at War: 1914-1918’ exhibition.
After some warm up activities that equip you with the skills you need to get started, the group will split up into smaller teams and each team will create several very short animations that explore the imagery and atmosphere of the horse and of warfare.
You will use ink, paint and charcoal on tracing paper to create sequences of images. These sequences will be filmed and layered together digitally to create a single, evocative gallery piece that will be shown in The Lightbox as part of ‘The Horse at War: 1914-1918’ exhibition.
