Welcome to our shiny new website. We hope you like it! There are so many new features, including being able to now book for events, donate online and of course, our new blog, where we will be telling you about everything we get up to; from behind the scenes of setting up for an exhibition to keeping you up to date with our community based projects and everything in between.
This is where the new donation option on the website comes in. In an attempt to make our community projects more sustainable, we will be featuring certain projects and appealing for people to help support the work we are doing by donating through the website.

Our Learning team, Abi and Heather, come up with all sorts of wonderful ideas for free family workshops in the school holidays, they also run our school visits, adult workshops, Young Curators projects and children’s workshops. In addition to all of this, Abi and Heather do a lot of work on community projects. When so much time has been spent developing these projects, it can be very frustrating when funding comes to an end and there is no way to continue.

Our first appeal will be to help raise money to continue the ‘Art and Craft 4 Wellbeing’ workshops with Woking & Sam Beare Hospices. These workshops provide a creative outlet for patients and carers, many of whom are unable to visit galleries or have access to creative events due to health and mobility problems.

A small team of trained volunteers run regular activity sessions at both Hospices, supported by The Lightbox Learning team. Funding will ensure that we can continue offering these sessions, pay for materials and train more volunteers. So please do donate - every little helps! And don’t forget to keep an eye out for updates on the project and appeal.
