Learning at The Lightbox
The Lightbox has been running award-winning education programmes since 1997. We work with artists, schools and community groups to provide inspiring creative activities for all ages and abilities.
The Lightbox welcomes bookings from school groups to visit Woking's Story, a permanent exhibition that tells the history of Woking through displays that include objects, photos, maps, videos and oral histories from Woking Residents. The building also has three galleries with changing exhibitions, an interactive display on the environment and an education studio where visiting groups can take part in hands on creative workshops. Our Learning team has also developed an exciting collection of Loan Boxes. These are available for schools and other community groups to borrow.
If you would like to join our schools mailing list please send your name, school and address to firstname.lastname@example.org or contact our Learning Team on 01483 737812.
Young Curators exciting next project
The Young Curators project is for young people who are interested in learning more about art and how museums work. These workshops will focus on the ĎAnimals in Artí exhibition. Participants will be involved in curating the exhibition and developing additional interactive elements. The most recent project was inspired by 'Alien Invasion' exhibition and the installation made by the Young Curators is currently on show in the lift.
