Local Tales
Oral History
Listen to a variety of Woking people talking about their lives.

Here we present a mixed selection of other interview extracts. They might be tales from taxi drivers or doctors, from employees of the Sorbo or the old Boots library. They may be memories of playing in the sandpits or of nights out at the Atalanta, of shopping in Robinsons and or of doing the daily commute. You might hear stories of people coming to Sheerwater from the East End or to Maybury from Kashmir. The collection gives a remarkable insight into the lives of people here within living memory.
