The winning entries of The Lightbox Photographic Open Competition were exhibited in the Upper Gallery. Entries were submitted by photography students, professionals, amateurs and enthusiasts alike, all under the theme of 'Celebration and Anniversary', in keeping with the ten year anniversary of The Lightbox in 2017.

The exhibition will displayed the winners’ photographs, along with a selection of the best shortlisted entries as chosen by the judges, showcasing the diverse range of styles and talent in photographic artwork currently being produced in the United Kingdom.

Offering photographers of all levels the unique opportunity to have their work exhibited at an award-winning gallery and museum, the competition also offered a 'Best in Show' prize, alongside a Young Photographer’s Prize for the best entry by a 13-17 year old, and The People's Prize. Visitors were invited to place their votes throughout the exhibition for The People's Prize, which was announced after the exhibition closed.
