Immerse yourself in the world of dance at the Woking Dance Festival which runs from 19 February – 6 March
Woking Dance Festival is an exhilarating 16 day festival of UK and international dance, and includes UK premiers, a large-scale community performance, commissions, dance from children and in conversation.
The Lightbox is proud to host Maven: Solo Dance Commission – an inspiring piece of solo dance created as a response to the ARTIST ROOMS: Jenny Holzer exhibition on the opening weekend of the festival Friday 19 – Sun 21 February.

Angela Woodhouse

The first time winners of this award are choreographer, Angela Woodhouse and textile artist, Caroline Broadhead. The artists will create a short dance work in response to American conceptual artist, Jenny Holzer's Blue Purple Tilt, Protect Protect & Shape the Battlefield, currently in exhibition at the Lightbox. The commission is a joint initiative between the dance festival and The Lightbox Gallery and Museum, Woking with support from The Art Fund.
