On Saturday 10 September to celebrate Heritage Open Days we will be offering a free family-friendly Love Architecture Trail that links The Lightbox and WWF UK's Living Planet Centre in which you will discover the fascinating history of both award winning buildings.

Heritage Open Days is England's biggest festival of history and culture involving over 40,000 volunteers. Every year over four days in September, thousands of events across the country invite you in to explore local treasures of every age, style and function.

This year Love Architecture and RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) joins Heritage Open Days to tell the architectural story of buildings – past, present and future, through a series of interpretation boards, talks, architect-led tours and special events taking place across the four-day festival. The Lightbox has been selected to have a special RIBA interpretation board to complement the free Trail that will tell the story of the building and how we work to be green and sustainable.

Heritage Open Days and Love Architecture Trail 2016
Celebrate Heritage Open Days and Love Architecture 2016 and take part in this self-guided family trail linking The Lightbox and WWF’s Living Planet Centre. Pick up a trail at either The Lightbox or Living Planet Centre Receptions. Suitable for children 4+; all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Object Handling Sessions
To celebrate Heritage Open Days, join our Collections Volunteers for an object handling session with artefacts from The Lightbox’s History Collection. These drop-in sessions are suitable for visitors aged 4+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
