Best known for her paintings of flowers, Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986) is widely recognised as a pioneer of American modernism. The inspiration she drew from the landscape of New Mexico, where she settled in the early 1930s, set the pattern for her work until her death at the age of 98.
