David Hockney (b. 1937) is one of the most popular British artists of the 20th century. To create art was all he ever wanted and he had success in the field from an early age. In this talk, lecturer Melanie Paice will discuss his work from the beginning of his career right up to the present day, examining his experimentation with the technology of the time, from Polaroids to iPads and multiple film screens. Through his artwork, Melanie will explore the artist’s friendships, his muses and his family.
