Join us for lively literary conversation in our Book Group. No need to pre-book, just come along to join in the discussion in the Hurst Room, on either the second or last Thursday of the month.

Please note: the new additional Thursday afternoon session is to accommodate for growing group numbers, so Book Group members are advised to attend one of the two sessions, rather than both.

Small Island by Anthea Levy
Gilbert Joseph is a Jamaican who fought for Britain in WW2. He later returns to London aboard the Windrush and takes lodgings with working-class woman, Queenie. Queenie’s husband survived the War, but she has no idea of his whereabouts. Gilbert is joined by his bride Hortense and we learn not only how they adapt to their new life in England, but also to each other.
