Women in Physics
Dr Jess Wade was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the 2019 Birthday Honours for services to gender diversity in science.

In this talk she questions how attitudes, assumptions and stereotypes contribute to women avoiding science, and discusses wide ranging initiatives and programmes that seek to address this. Her own research is into polymer-based organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Her public engagement work in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), champions women in physics, and tackles gender bias on Wikipedia.
