This Fundraising Talk is part of a programme of Fundraising Events dedicated to supporting The Lightbox ‘Inspiring Art & Supporting Wellbeing Programme’. We thank you for your support.
On International Women’s Day join award winning photographer Jayne Fincher as she discusses her career as a pioneering female photographer in the male-dominated world of Fleet Street photojournalism. Jayne began her career in 1975 as a darkroom assistant before embarking on a career spanning 25 years photographing Hollywood film stars, international figures and members of the British Royal Family.
Her work has appeared on numerous front covers of international publications and she is the author of several books, including the bestselling ‘Diana, Portrait of a Princess’. She contributes to worldwide television and radio productions on the British Royal Family. This event is in conjunction with the exhibition Women in Photography: A History of British Trailblazers (30 January – 2 June 2019) and the associated display ‘Director’s Cut: On the Royal Road with Jayne Fincher’.
We will be exclusively opening the Main Gallery from 6.30pm - 7.00pm for those that wish to explore the exhibition before the talk.
