Picasso and Print Young Curators is for 13-19 year olds who are interested in learning more about art and how galleries and museums work. The group meet to work on projects related to upcoming exhibitions. This might be working with a professional artist to create your own artworks to be displayed in the gallery, or working with the learning and curatorial team to develop an exhibition. The Lightbox is an Arts Award centre, so you can also work towards a Bronze, Silver or Gold Arts Award. This is a great opportunity to meet new people, get creative and have something unique on your CV. Young Curators will take inspiration from the ‘Picasso: Paper & Clay’ exhibition and work with printmaker and artist, Richenda Court. Through explorative fun processes, you will develop imagery in the style of Picasso inspired by your own drawings. Then, you will produce drypoint etchings in response to the exhibition and develop and print them in a variety of ways. The work produced will be exhibited afterwards at The Lightbox.
