Easter Holidays at The Lightbox Easter's here and we've got lots of fun workshops lined up for kids and young people at The Lightbox this spring! Having fun and learning new skills is what it's all about so we've got a range of activities on offer where you can learn everything from Clay Painting to making your very own Cotton Tail Bunnies. Plus, our family-friendly cafe is open throughout the holidays, overlooking the Basingstoke Canal you can enjoy a selection of stone-baked pizzas, tempting cakes, and sweet treats. For 5 - 7 year olds: Leaf clay dish Dress for mess and create your own leaf clay dish out of air-drying clay. You will be able to paint them in the session so they are ready for display when dry. Thurs 7 April, 1.30pm – 3.00pm£9.50 Per Child ● Accompanying Adult goes free Garden in the Box Festival Join us for this one-day festival celebrating the positive power of gardening. Free in our courtyard will be The Wisley Community Outreach Team, a pop-up by local florist Poppies and Peonies, the Surrey Wildlife Trust, Surrey Bees, and our volunteers will be running a Plant Exchange swap table. Sat 9 April, 10.30am – 5.00pmFree Entry ● Suggested Donation £3 Young Creatives: Sumi Painting Step into a journey of self-discovery through the ancient art of Sumi-painting. The artist for this session, Koshu, will guide you through this ancestral art form using ink brush strokes and meditative practice to create deeply expressive artwork for you to take away with you. Akemi Lucas, born in Japan, better known by her artist name Koshu, is a Japanese calligraphy master and Sumi painter. Her artworks were used by the 2019 Rugby World Cup Awards in Tokyo, and by the Team GB for Tokyo Olympic 2020.
