What a way to start the Easter holidays than getting crafty with some paper and pens? You could send this to a friend or family member for some happy post.

You will need:

  • A5 Plain or coloured card
  • Coloured papers
  • Pencil
  • Pen
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Coloured pens if desired (sorry not in picture)

Got everything? Let's get started

First start by folding your card in half to create a card. Then cut into the card to create your areas that will pop up. You could design your picture first on another piece of paper so that you know where to cut. Make sure your cuts are to the same length, you can always make sure with the next step.

Open up the card and push where your cuts are. These will then create corners for your design to be glued on. You could start with a couple and can always decide to add more.

Now you can start to create the animals you are going to add to your card. You could always start with a simple shape or silhouette and add details later on.

Glue your animals onto the ledges you have created. Try to make sure that you cannot see the ledges behind the animals to make them appear like magic.

Then you can add detail on the back of the card, create a whole theme, you could add things that pop out from the back of the card too, by adding some small squares of thick card to create a pop-up effect. Add a message onto it and you're done! You could send these to say "Happy Birthday" or just to say hello, whatever you like.
