The Lightbox will reopen on 22 May for a Members' Preview Weekend and on 25 May for the general public. Pre-booking timeslots for our reopening exhibitions are now available to book for Lightbox Members, and will be made available for our general public on 6 May.

Our 2021 exhibition programme includes highlights such as a retrospective of polymath Michael Ayrton, Old Masters drawings from the prestigious Chatsworth Collection, and exploring the historical roots of Bridget Riley’s art and her working methods.

We are committed to improving the wellbeing and quality of life of our community and we have continued to do so throughout this past year. Like many galleries and museums, our charity has been financially hard-hit by the current crisis. If you are able to offer support please consider becoming a member or making a donation.

Social distancing measures will be in place throughout the building. Our safety measures follow the recommended guidelines and we have been awarded the 'Good To Go' Visit England seal of approval for reopening.

We will be limiting numbers in our galleries to ensure your safety. For Main and Upper Gallery exhibitions we advise that all visitors, including Members, should pre-book to secure their space.
