William Crozier: Nature into Abstraction

William Crozier (1930–2011) was a leading figure amongst the second generation of New Generation British painters, who emerged after the Second World War. This exhibition focuses on a remarkable series of landscape-inspired paintings produced by the artist from 1959 to 1962 and in which he developed an innovative vocabulary of abstract gestures and marks to express the essence of what he saw, heard, and felt in his response to the natural environment.
