The idea of The Covid Chronicle came to artist Wendy Bliss in February 2021. During the lockdown, she decided to use her time creating a ‘separately-and-together’ global community-based art installation, consisting of textile panels, created by artists and amateurs alike. This display will feature the panels, stitched together into blocks of fours, which creates a ‘Bayeux Tapestry’ of the 21st-century pandemic. The project is in aid of MIND and will tour. A panel by the local volunteer group, The Horsell Scrubbers, will also feature.
