Get a head start on your Christmas shopping with a visit to The Lightbox’s popular annual Christmas Fair, taking place on Sat 27 November and Sun 28 November 2021. Come along and find that extra special gift you won’t find anywhere else. Enjoy browsing the stalls featuring local artists and creators including illustrations by local artist Marcie Cobley.



Cafe

Christmas shopping undoubtedly works up an appetite and Cannon Café will be on hand over the Christmas season with ethically sourced coffee and their special Lightbox Coffee Blend which is a unique combination of Brazilian and Costa Rican Coffee. Traditional mulled wine and hot Christmas mince pies to spread some festive cheer and an all-day menu that includes soup, sandwiches, sausage and bacon baps, and a selection of cakes and sweet treats, with takeaway options available. 



Workshops

While the kids are off school and you’re looking for ways to keep them entertained – The Lightbox has got you covered! Bring the whole family along to our Education Studio for Studio Sundays on 5 December to get messy and explore different materials and techniques. Young adults can explore the work of artist Bridget Riley and pattern in a series of Young Creatives workshops

Exhibitions

On a cold winter’s day come inside and warm up by exploring our award-winning art galleries. When visiting At the Christmas Craft Fair you can enjoy a reduced £5 admission to Lines of Beauty: Master Drawings from Chatsworth in the Main Gallery and The Ingram Collection: Art For Your World exhibition in the Upper Gallery. Heritage fans can discover the fascinating story of Woking in our free local history museum, Woking’s Story, which has interactive exhibits and children’s trails.

On 18 December, to celebrate Bridget Riley's 90th birthday, Bridget Riley: Pleasures of Sight will be open in our Main Gallery. This exhibition will explore the artist's love of sight and how it surprises us. Delving into the historical roots of Bridget Riley’s art and her working methods, through a selection of exemplary striped, curved, colour, and black-and-white works. Tickets are now on sale!
