Celebrate the new year in style by making some fun party glasses to wear! You can use an old Christmas card or some wrapping paper backed on card to recycle your stash.

You will need:

  • Christmas card
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Pen or pencil
  • A circular object (which will fit on your card twice)

1. Place your circular object on your card and draw around it twice on either side of the card, leaving a small gap between them for your nose.

2. Place your ruler between the two circles and draw a line near the top and then draw a curved arch underneath to create the nose section.

3. Draw some smaller circles inside the big circles and then cut it all out. Be careful with cutting out the inside circles. To make it easier, you can fold the card, so that you can create a hole to cut out the middle.

4. Using another piece of your card, you can start to draw the arms for your glasses by drawing an ‘L shape’ with the long piece the length of your card. The downwards part will need to be about 3cm in length and the arm will need to be at least as long as the distance from your eye to behind your ear. You could use a pair of sunglasses as a template if you have some.

5. Cut this out and then use this as a template to draw around to create the other arm.

6. Glue the arms to the sides of your glasses. Fold the arms to create your glasses so they can fit on your face.

7. Now you can add some decorations if you like or leave them as they are. You could add glitter or paper over the top so that you can’t see your lines.

Now you are ready to party like it's 2021!
