These origami bookmarks are so simple to make that you can create a new themed one for each of your family or friends, or perhaps for each of your books. It could be your favourite cartoon character or rocket like this one.

You will need:

  • Paper (coloured, patterned, plain, whatever you want)
  • Pencil
  • Pen
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Got everything? Let's get started!

Firstly, you can watch this video to learn how to create a basic Origami bookmark.

Now you are ready to decorate. You can add anything you like onto your bookmark, just make sure you don't glue the flap closed. This one turned into a rocket and so different shapes of the coloured paper to create it.

Glueing all the parts together first and then attaching it to the bookmark seemed to work best. What would you turn your bookmark into? Maybe you could create superman for your favourite comic book or turn your bookmark into a book reading monster.

We would love to see what you create, so please do share your works on social media with us.
