This summer may be a bit of a wash out when it comes the weather, but that hasn’t stopped our summer fun! We’ve had lots of fun with our packed programme of workshops at the gallery and have loved seeing the creativity flowing in the children and families that have joined us. We thought we would share some of the great works that have been created so far.

Despite the rain, summer isn’t over yet and we still have lots planned. Have a look below at our workshops still to come.

This summer has also been busy for our Young Curators. As well as creating and installing their own display of original Pop Art pieces which is currently on show on the first floor, a few of the teenagers from the group have also been involved in a new project called ‘How I See It’. The project is a film made by teenagers about what they want in a museum visit. The teenagers are working with Kids in Museums and a professional filmmaker over the summer holidays – we can’t wait to see the final cut in autumn!

Also, look out for Immy and Archie taking over our twitter account on Thursday 20 August for Teen Twitter Takeover. We had a great time last year when the teens took over and saw our gallery and exhibitions in a new light.
