A collection of objects and photographs from World War II in Woking is on display as part of the 70th anniversary commemoration of VE & VJ Days. The snapshots provide a glimpse into life here in Surrey during the war, showing how people continued despite the shortages and how Woking absorbed some 6,000 evacuees. A selection of photographs also show the town celebrating the end of the hostilities in Europe holding VE-Day parties.

Find out more by visiting the display outside ‘Woking’s Story’.

Entrance is free.
