Discover the story of the Woking men who fought and died in Gallipoli or Palestine during the First World War. In 1915, Woking men took part in the Gallipoli Campaign aiming to force Turkey, Germany’s ally, out of the war, and to provide Russia access to the Mediterranean. They then participated in the Palestine Campaign against the Turks to the surrender of Jerusalem in 1917.
