Engaging with the community is at the heart of what we do, from exhibitions to projects to our learning programme.  We believe strongly in genuine collaboration.  So if you would like to work with us in any way, then please get in touch.

We welcome collaboration with all sectors of the community, in our exhibitions work, our many projects and our learning activities – in fact in all that we do. For us, community engagement is not an optional add-on – it is vital, central to our very reason for existing.

The Lightbox is one of 7 galleries and museums across the UK engaged in the Our Museum programme, funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. We are all working together to strengthen community engagement on all fronts.

We are also active collaborators with The Happy Museum Project, a national programme which explores the link between environmental sustainability and wellbeing. Recent projects include the anti upgrading exhibition 'Waste Not...' which showed old appliances which were still in used and short films of the object's owners being interviewed.
