So many of our members and visitors share our passion for all things Lightbox and its contribution to art and heritage within our community.

As a result of closing to the public for the third time in the past year, The Lightbox – like so many other charities and small businesses – is in a difficult financial position. Consequently, we have introduced the opportunity for new and current members to pay for their next three years of Lightbox Membership upfront. This will provide essential financial security for The Lightbox when we reopen in due course. If you are in a position to help, it would be hugely appreciated.

Alternatively, you can make a one-off donation to The Lightbox, here.

Whilst we are closed, we're remaining active online, highlighting the benefits that art can have on wellbeing.

We'll be sharing:

  • "Create at Home" step-by-step guides for the entire family
  • Stories from some of those we have helped in our Art and Wellbeing programme
  • Throwbacks to past exhibitions and more information on particular works from our collections
  • Weekly updates from our Director on the current situation and what it means for The Lightbox
  • And more!
