A display in Woking’s Story celebrates the work of local Woking and Surrey artist, Marguerite Howarth. A former president of Woking Society of Arts and member of Guildford Art Society, Marguerite Howarth was a professional illustrator whose early work centred on the production of greetings cards and postcards.

An exhibition of Marguerite Howarth’s work was held in the Art Fund Prize Gallery from August to October 2013 and it is the intention to display some of her paintings in Woking’s Story in the course of the following months. The need to protect watercolours from ultraviolet light means that each painting can be shown for just three months.

At the same time there is a display of digital images of all of Marguerite Howarth’s known works. If you would like a copy of these images a CD is available from Reception, priced at £5 each.

The Lightbox would like to acknowledge and thank Phillip Arnold for the organisation of this display.
