Lines of Beauty: Master Drawings from Chatsworth

Uncover a major exhibition of over 60 works of Old Master Drawings from the Devonshire Collections will feature as part of an exhibition partnership between ChatsworthMuseums Sheffield, and The Lightbox. Featuring works by da Vinci, Poussin, Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck, and more, the exhibition is the largest display of drawings from the collection in over twenty years.

NightShaking with The Ingram Collection

NightShaking is a creative collaboration using The Ingram Collection and contributions from contemporary artists Dr Chantal Powell and Dean Melbourne who work in the field of mythology, alchemy and depth psychology.

Discover exciting and prestigious artworks from The Ingram Collection that explore the current climate crisis. This exhibition is in support of WWF’s #ArtForYourWorld initiative, which aims to raise awareness of climate change.

Drawing for Adults

Meet an artist on the first floor, collect a stool and some materials, and set off into the galleries for two hours of indulgent reflective time to draw inspiration from the outstanding collections on display.

Adults: Landscape and Mark-Making

Using our exhibitions on display for inspiration, join artist Antoinette Brown in this drawing and mark-making workshop to show you techniques for creating your own landscapes using graphite, charcoal, pen, and ink. This session is aimed at beginners and those with little experience.

Edible England Canal Trip
Sat 11 and 18 September 2021, 11.00am, 1.00pm and 2.45pm
Enjoy a leisurely canal boat ride with The Basingstoke Canal Society. Starting at The Lightbox, you’ll make your way to the Muslim Burial Ground in Woking seeing all the edible delights you can find along the canal. Trips will return to The Lightbox.

Pop-Up Café
There will be two exciting pop-ups at The Lightbox this September! Stable and Ground is taking up residency in our courtyard serving hot drinks, cold drinks and cakes. They will be joining us every Tuesday and Wednesday this month. Cannon Coffee are serving a special Lightbox coffee blend, alongside tea, soft drinks and cakes. Located in our Café, they will be in the building Thursdays to Sundays.

Opening hours are 10.30am - 3.00pm Tuesdays - Saturdays and 11.00am - 3.00pm on Sundays.
