Woking Art Society annual exhibition - Art Fund Prize Gallery and Second Floor

Discover an exciting group show of artists working across drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, and printing, selected from Woking Art Society’s 150 members. Affordable art will be for sale in the Art Fund Prize Gallery and on the Second Floor.

For the first time throughout The Lightbox, Woking Art Society will be offering live artist demonstrations on Sunday 5 May and Sunday 12 May, from 11.00am to 3.00pm.

Woking Art Society promotes interest in art, provides a meeting place for like-minded enthusiasts, talented amateurs and professional artists and offers expert workshops and appraisals to its members.

A Spirit Inside

A Spirit Inside brings together work of a selection of women artists from The Ingram Collection and The Women’s Art Collection in Cambridge, to showcase artworks that have been born out of a strength of spirit and touch upon the elemental, fantastical, spiritual and political.

Originally from Portsmouth, Emily Faludy studied at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. She takes inspiration from the rich colour palettes and intense emotion of Renaissance paintings, but also the high energy of other social and cultural influences
Paintings On Paper 2020-22 - Andrew Champion

Andrew Champion presents Paintings on Paper, a series of studies created between 2020 and 2022. Interested in formal composition, repetition and the grid, the works form two (diptych) or four (quadriptych) parts.
William Lai: Reflections on the Psyche

William Lai’s work explores deeply emotional and creative imagery, drawing from his fascination with notions of the ancient and contemporary psyche.
Giles Harvey: Residue

Giles presents an exploration of abstraction and light in photographic media. Particularly interested in the residue and traces of what gets left behind – such as burned buildings, torn paper and shadows.
