Digital Resources Museum and Gallery visits can have a positive impact on learning and attainment for all ages. However, we also know that it is not always possible to visit us in person. This is why with funding from the Arts Council England we have developed a Portraits and Identity digital resource to download and use in your classrooms, aimed at KS3 and KS4. The resources allow your students to explore selected works from The Ingram Collection we have on medium-term loan here at The Lightbox. You can then of course visit us to find out more through a self-guided visit, Critical Thinkers, or creative workshop sessions. The PDF pack is designed to spark debate and encourage students to analyse artworks through the concept of ‘identity’, through the exploration of portraiture within artmaking. You can use these resources on your interactive whiteboards and/or print them as many times as you need. The videos hosted on YouTube feature a member of our learning team talking about the artworks; and include discussion points throughout to encourage active listening and observation.
